Vodka Ice Cube Tray

Vodka is a clear spirit originating in Poland, Russia and Sweden and dates back to the middle ages. It’s traditionally drunk neat (not mixed with water or ice). Vodka has little aroma or taste, which makes it a versatile spirit in cocktails and mixed drinks such as the vodka martini, Cosmopolitan, Moscow Mule and Bloody Mary.

How is Vodka made?
Vodka may be distilled from any  plant rich in starch or sugar. Traditionally, vodka is made by distilling liquid from fermented cereal grains including sorghum, corn, rye or wheat. Potatoes have also been used for the base of the spirit and some modern brands use fruit, honey, or maple as the base.

Vodka can also be flavoured with citrus, vanilla, ginger, fruit and cinnamon as well as honey and pepper.

Since the 1890s, standard vodka have been 40% alcohol by volume. Keep your bottle of vodka in the freezer. The high alcohol content means it won’t freeze but it stays chilled to the max and perfect to mix in a cocktail. 

How to make a classic Cosmopolitan
The Cosmopolitan was the cocktail of choice for Carrie and her friends more than a decade ago. The signature hot pink cocktail was featured countless times throughout Sex And The City. The Cosmo is still a classic and is a fabulous addition to any gathering. 

Ingredients:

• 60 mls Vodka
• 30 ml Cointreau
• 15 ml  lime juice 
• 125 ml cranberry juice

Place all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake to combine. 

Strain into a martini glass. Add a DrinksPlinks V ice shape to make a statement and garnish with orange peel.
